Deputy Finance Director
Our client is a dynamic mid sized company active in the distribution sector. For their Headquarters based in Western Brussels, our client is looking for a Deputy Finance Director (m/f).
Reporting to the Finance Director, your main responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for contributing to the implementation of the Group's financial policies;
- Operational follow up of the finance and accounting activities at Belgian, Dutch and Corporate level;
- Operational implementation of administrative directions set by the Finance Management;
- Responsible for conducting and analysing retrospective and prospective financial studies;
- Supervision and ensuring deadlines of general and cost accounting;
- Ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and set up statistics and reports in terms of cost management;
- Providing acceleration and reliability of the outputs of accounts;
- Preparation of monthly or quarterly results;
- Analyses of budget deviations;
- Coordinating the preparation and filing of annual finance statements of the Group;
- Coordination of the tax return operations;
- Liaison with the auditors;
- Follow up of budget control and treasury operations;
- Providing support to the management control through the improvement of accounting systems and procedures;
- Responsible for making recommendations to the Finance Director;
- Active participation in the implementation of accounting tools;
- Participation in treasury management;
- Coordination of the finance team;
- Follow up of projects.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor in Accounting combined with an experience of at least 8 years in accounting within an industry and / or in the Fiduciary Department of a Big Four. A previous experience in people management is required. Experience in project management and process improvement would be highly appreciated. A Certified Public Accountant (IEC or IAB) is a serious asset.
A very good knowledge of French, Dutch and English is required. Good general computer skills are mandatory. Knowledge of Business Objects for reporting and AFS for accounting are important assets.
The successful candidate has a strong capacity for analysis, investigation and initiative. In addition, he/she is process oriented and is able, if necessary, to implement improvements. He/she demonstrates excellent communication skills and can work with other services and countries. He/she has the ability to easily understand and produce complex schemes. He/she enjoys working as a team and knows how to delegate and motivate. He/she is also accurate and results oriented.
