Accounting Manager

Due to its continuous growth, an Accounting Manager role has just come available within an innovative production company, based in Antwerp. In this position you will take the lead in the daily operations of the accounting department.

Your key responsibilities as Accounting Manager:

• Coordinate all accounting aspects of new and existing business projects
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting (month, quarter and year-end closing), in accordance with Belgian accounting rules and US GAAP policies
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Take accountability for compliance with local tax rules and with SOX policies
• Manage the annual statutory audit
• Oversee the day-to-day relationship with internal and external partners (including banks, group accounting, consultants etc)
• Assess current accounting practices and procedures, and initiate improvement tracks
• Lead transformational accounting projects, including the implementation of a new accounting software and introduction of analytical accounting
• Give guidance, motivate and further develop the team (2 direct reports)

The ideal profile as Accounting Manager:

• Relevant master’s degree or certified Accountant
• Solid knowledge of BE GAAP, SOX and experience with US GAAP is an advantage
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting
• Excellent people management skills with at least 5 years’ experience in coaching and motivating a team
• Strong organization and planning skills with a good analytical mindset
• Problem solving abilities
• Comfortable in a fast growing and highly changing environment, experience with implementation of new (software) systems and processes
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required, knowledge of French is a plus
