Senior Accountant

Responsibilities as Senior Accountant:

• Supervise Record-to-Report (RTR) activities, including general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
• Lead and mentor a nearshore team of finance professionals, providing guidance and fostering development.
• Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review financial reports with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders on RTR matters, providing updates and resolving issues.
• Oversee financial systems and tools, ensuring effective utilization.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in optimizing and automating RTR processes.
• Participate in end-to-end improvement projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation.

The ideal Senior Accountant:

• Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, accounting, or equivalent experience.
• Has a solid understanding of IFRS accounting rules.
• Brings at least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within manufacturing or automotive industries.
• Understands shared service center operations, SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Possesses strong expertise in ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4HANA and its FI/CO and Fixed Assets modules.
• Has deep technical knowledge in accounting processes and a passion for automation projects.
• Is a collaborative team player, fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch, French, or German is an asset.
• Works in a structured way, adapts well to change, and consistently meets deadlines.
