Accountant/Controller

For a company in the industrial sector in Beerse, we’re looking for an Accountant – Controller. This company value accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement in a pragmatic and hands-on working environment.

Responsibilities as Accountant-Controller:

Accounting:

• Process bank statements and payroll entries
• Prepare VAT and intra-community VAT filings (for review and submission)
• Maintain customer and supplier master data
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support timely monthly and annual closings, including accruals and allocations
• Monitor depreciation tables, inventory adjustments, and intercompany balances
• Prepare audit documentation and liaise with external auditors
• Act as backup for finance team members and support ad-hoc finance tasks

Controlling:

• Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable collections for EMEA entities
• Support weekly and monthly management reporting (AR, AP, cash flow, financial results)
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation
• Perform variance analyses and highlight risks and improvement opportunities
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
• Perform ad-hoc controlling activities when required

The ideal profile of the Accountant-Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central (Finance)
• Accurate, proactive, and hands-on working style
• Well-organized with the ability to manage priorities independently
• Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong analytical skills with attention to both overview and detail
• Excellent communication skills with high ethical and confidentiality standards
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
• Team player with the ability to coach and support colleagues on finance-related topics
