Deputy AMLCO

A dynamic and growing FinTech company is currently looking for a motivated Deputy AMLCO to join their team in their Brussels’s office. Thanks to your experience in Financial Services and AML, you will be the perfect addition to the company and will have an essential role within your division and will help the company offer start-ups and established businesses a wide range of payment services, as well as act as the designated deputy to the AMLCO/MLRO and liaise with management and supervisory authorities.

Your main responsibilities as the new Deputy AMLCO will include:

• Help the AMLCO in all aspects of leading, developing and operating the AML Team.
• Working with the AMLCO to scaling up and structuring the AML Team and its operations.
• Implementing a Risk-based approach for the prevention of ML/TF, including reviewing and updating the ML/TF Overall Risk Assessment.
• Drafting and implementing the annual AML Plan.
• Working with the product, project, and operations teams to enhance AML systems and controls.
• Developing and implementing the AML Training Plan.
• Drafting the annual AMLCO Report.
• Reviewing the AML Policies, processes, procedures, and controls (either at local or at group level assessed against requirements).
• Overseeing the AML Team performance and daily activities.
• Maintaining a close oversight of Agents, support the Agent Oversight Team.
• Ensuring the timely processing of Transaction Monitoring/Customer Ongoing Due Diligence alerts and the drafting, reviewing and communication of SARs of the highest quality to various competent authorities.
• Ensuring the constant review, update and improvement of typologies, scenarios, and Transaction Monitoring tools’ settings.
• Ensuring that the Sanctions-related processes and tools meet relevant requirements.
• Working with the AMLCO to ensure the timely preparation, validation, and submission of AML regulatory reporting to Board, Senior Management, Auditors and Regulators.
• Working closely with the other functions of control of the 2LoD and 3 LoD.
• Working closely with all other departments, including our Banking Operations, Fraud Operations, IT, head of Financial Crime Unit, our clients/agents and third parties such as payment schemes, law enforcement organisations, other financial institutions, and financial crime prevention bodies.
• Keeping abreast of new and existing regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business and our agents, and finally control AML compliance across the board.
• Representing the company in industry bodies and working groups.

Your profile:

• You have previous professional experience as an AML Officer, Manager or Team Leader within Financial Services, preferably in a FinTech, Payment or eMoney company.
• Relevant certification, such as CAMs Specialist, AML or Compliance Officer, is considered an asset.
• You have previous experience experience working in an B2B2C business model.
• You have a strong understanding of risks and issues specific to e-money and payment services.
• You are comfortable with technology and how it can be used for ML/TF/Sanctions-related crimes prevention, and past experience in web technologies and softwares platforms is a strong plus.
• You are fluent in French/Dutch and English.
