A multinational active in the banking sector is currently looking for a Compliance Officer to join its Brussels offices.

A key position of Compliance Officer has just been created in Brussels. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will play a hands-on role in advising and assisting the Local Compliance function to ensure that business units are aware of and comply with all relevant laws, rules and regulations.

Your main responsibilities as the new Compliance Officer will include:

• Ensure compliance advice and instructions are provided to the various departments
• Examine, advise and obtain reasonable assurance that there is adequate documentation, procedures and resources for the central compliance team
• Research any potential or actual breaches of applicable rules and regulations and assist in reporting to senior management and regulatory authorities and rectifying the situation
• Assist in managing compliance analyst
• Handle central compliance projects and report on progress through to completion
• Support the EMEA Training Manager in developing training material and organising training sessions for the various departments

Your profile:

• You are fluent in French or Dutch with a good knowledge of English
• You have significant experience in advising companies on how to comply with laws, rules and regulations and in investigating potential or actual breaches of applicable laws, rules and regulations
• You have a good knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to financial services, financial markets and banking activities, prudential risks and areas of financial conduct
