A multinational company active in the banking sector is currently looking for a Compliance Monitoring Officer to join its Brussels offices.

A key Compliance Monitoring Officer position has just been created in Brussels. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will play an essential role.

Your main responsibilities as the new Compliance Monitoring Officer will include:

• Provide timely scheduled compliance monitoring reviews, identify compliance issues and follow up on corrective actions
• Support compliance-related projects and perform ad hoc tasks to assist the Compliance Officer
• Assist compliance team members and share learning points
• Build relationships with stakeholders, present challenges to general managers and sometimes deliver difficult messages
• Conduct compliance reviews
• Timely follow-up of corrective actions
• Schedule assigned reviews in accordance with scope agreed with Compliance Officer
• Carry out tests on processes and controls, in line with compliance control methodology
• Present results to senior stakeholders
• Negotiate and agree appropriate corrective actions for identified findings
• Be responsible for the proactive and timely provision of accurate and quality reviews
• Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to assigned reviews

Your profile:

• You are fluent in Dutch or French and have a good knowledge of English
• You have experience advising companies on how to comply with laws, rules and regulations and investigate potential or actual violations of relevant laws, rules and regulations
• You have a good knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, financial markets and banking activities, prudential risks and areas of financial conduct
• You have strong analytical abilities (data analysis as well as review and interpretation of policies and regulatory requirements)
• You have a strong working knowledge of the business and understand the regulatory environment and the importance of compliance control to the organization.
• You have excellent stakeholder management abilities, with the ability to engage with colleagues within the function and across business areas, including those in more senior positions
