Head of Claims

An international company active in the Insurance sector is currently looking to hire a Head of Claims to join their offices in Brussels. Thanks to your experience in claims management, you will be responsible for the implementation and the execution of the claims strategy, claims budget management and the development of talent management in Belgium.

Your main responsibilities as the new Head of Claims will include:

• Drive the implementation of the claims strategy in Belgium through initiatives that are aligned with the cluster/international/EMEA strategic claims objectives and country business plans and priorities
• Collaborate with the regional team on a variety of areas (large claims, claims trend data, succession planning, learning and development and talent management)
• You represent the company's interests to key clients and are in charge of the development and implementation of the claims value proposition
• Manage the contribution of claims to the combined ratio in the context of claims management, ULAE, ALAE and operational expenses:
  • Track operational, technical and Belgian quality performance and implement corrective and/or improvement actions
  • Build tools and strategies to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams
  • Develop claims handlers to maximize their use of outside help
  • Establish goals and manage performance to achieve business objectives

Your profile:

• You have a bachelor or master’s degree
• You are fluent in French, Dutch, and English
• You have proven experience in claims supervision in the property and casualty insurance industry and you have claims experience, preferably in commercial and consumer products
• You have the ability and proven experience in building and managing successful teams
