Legal Officer

We are looking for a Dutch-speaking Junior Legal & KYC Officer to join a small, dedicated team within a reputable financial institution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, has strong attention to detail, and wants to grow their expertise in KYC, documentation validation, and basic inheritance/succession processes within a banking environment. You will work closely with a highly skilled department manager, while also having the independence to manage your own tasks and daily priorities. Your Responsibilities as a Junior Legal & KYC Officer :

Document Validation & Account Opening (Core of the Role)

• Validate all incoming account-opening requests
• Ensure completeness and compliance of documentation
• Perform checks using established control lists
• Follow up on ongoing cases and maintain accurate status tracking

Succession & Inheritance Files (Small Portion)

• Gather information from notaries
• Review and prepare succession documentation
• Provide initial legal insights (final decisions validated by the department manager)

KYC / Compliance Interaction

• Collaborate with the Compliance department when needed
• Contribute to KYC/AML checks aligned with internal procedures

Who We Are Looking For this Junior Legal & KYC Office role :

• Excellent communication in Dutch with solid understanding of French
• Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent experience
• First experience or internship
• Ability to work independently and comfortably with limited daily supervision
• Detail-oriented, reliable, structured, and comfortable with repetitive document-driven tasks
• Someone who enjoys working alone but communicates well within a small team
