A Purchasing Assistant position has just opened within a company active in the industrial sector. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be supporting our client’s European Purchasing department regarding all related commercial issues coming from their activities. You will be joining a human scale company that is active internationally and is a leader on its market.

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for the following tasks :

  • You will manage and develop strategic and business critical suppliers
  • Act at a strategical level to reduce the total cost of acquisition by working on all cost drivers through advanced analysis including cost breakdown analysis & learning curve
  • Negotiate framework contracts and large scheduling agreement and develops providers partnership efficiently
  • You will manage relationship with key internal and external stakeholders and business representatives
  • Act as a team player with the different internal stakeholders and be able to propose alternative solutions, when relevant
  • You will be knowledgeable about the Purchasing best practices and requests and is able to take the lead in process improvement process

Ideal profile of the Purchasing Assistant :

  • You have 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • You are fluent in English and French; Dutch is a nice to have
  • You are familiar with MS office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • You have very strong people/communications skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • You understand BOM’s and how they work, the work orders and how they are processed.
  • You have a strong written and verbal communication and excellent problem solving and organization skills.
  • You demonstrated an ability to work with a team and to be flexible.
