SAP Project Leader, ad interim

A leading organization in the agri-food sector is seeking a senior SAP Project Leader ad.interim to spearhead a transformative migration from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA. You will take full ownership of a high-impact program, driving structure and momentum while acting as the point of contact between business, IT, and implementation partner. You will be at the heart of a hands-on leadership role, shaping governance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring operational readiness.

As an SAP Project Leader, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a major migration initiative from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around establishing clear governance frameworks that drive progress. You will be instrumental in translating complex technical requirements into practical solutions that meet business needs. By leading workshops and training sessions, you will empower key users to become ambassadors for change—ensuring widespread adoption of new processes. Reporting directly to executive leadership means your insights will shape strategic decisions at every stage of the project.

• Be responsible for the SAP S/4HANA migration project, guiding each phase from initial planning through to successful go-live, with a strong focus on collaborative delivery.
• Act as a key liaison between business units, IT departments, and the SAP integrator to translate needs into concrete requirements, remove obstacles, and foster cooperation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish robust governance structures, decision-making processes, and milestone-tracking systems that promote transparency and shared accountability.
• Challenge legacy ways of working by promoting standardized processes and reducing reliance on excessive custom SAP developments.
• Lead workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-transfer activities to engage key users and project ambassadors who will champion adoption.
• Redesign business processes where necessary to align with SAP S/4HANA best practices while ensuring user readiness for go-live.
• Formalize procedures and documentation to create reliable ways of working that can be easily shared across teams.
• Report directly to executive management, providing concise updates on progress, risks, and recommendations in clear, professional language.
• Ensure that all stakeholders remain actively engaged so that operational readiness is achieved across the organization.

What you bring:

• Proven experience leading SAP S/4HANA migration projects as either program or project lead within complex organizations.
• Extensive background in SAP Finance & Logistics modules including FI/CO, MM, SD, WM with demonstrable results in process transformation.
• Experience collaborating with major SAP integrators while maintaining open lines of communication between all parties involved.
• Exceptional change management skills with a talent for nurturing stakeholder relationships and fostering inclusive team dynamics.
• Pragmatic approach combined with strong organizational skills that enable you to formalize procedures for dependable outcomes.
• Outstanding interpersonal abilities allowing you to translate technical topics into clear business language for executive audiences.
