Purchasing Assistant

A Purchasing Assistant position has just opened within a company active in the industrial sector in Brussels. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be supporting our client’s European Purchasing department regarding all related commercial issues coming from their activities. You will be joining a human scale company that is active internationally and is a leader on its market.

Tasks of the Purchasing Assistant:

  • Clarification of possible quantity differences in deliveries with the suppliers.
  • Maintaining and updating orders in the ordering system with regard to quantities, prices and delivery dates.
  • Audit BOMs work with Engineering to maintain BOM accuracy.
  • Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
  • Audit and maintain PO price books with purchasing on changes and price rolls.
  • Maintain intercompany and interstate SO/PO price books.
  • Active parts clean up and maintenance within the item master.
  • Perform other duties and analytics as required.

Profile of the ideal Purchasing Assistant:

  • You have 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • You are fluent in English, German is a nice to have.
  • You are familiar with MS office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Sage a plus.
  • You have very strong people/communications skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • You understand BOM’s and how they work, the work orders and how they are processed.
  • You have a strong written and verbal communication and excellent problem solving and organization skills.
  • You demonstrated an ability to work with a team and to be flexible.
