Financial Controller

A leading, international insurance company is looking for a Financial Controller to join its offices in Brussels. The company excels in identifying, managing and satisfying the diverse needs of its customers, both short- and long-term. In your role as a Financial Controller, you will report to the Head of consolidation and financial control. In this role you are part of Consolidation & Financial Reporting & Control team comprising of Financial Controllers and Financial reporting analysts. You are responsible for the follow-up on an operating company.

Your main responsibilities as a Financial Controller will be:

• Provide support and coordinate regular IFRS reporting cycles (quarterly/annual) for the operating company, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness
• You act as the link between the operating company and the Group's financial reporting team
• You are able to translate the business underlying data into financial reporting data
• Contribute to external reporting such as the consolidated interim financial report and the Group annual report
• Participate in Group projects
• Propose and make improvements to processes and internal controls
• Keep up with IFRS developments

Your profile:

• You have a university degree in accounting or finance
• You have more than 5 years' professional experience in accounting and reporting in a financial institution or one of the Big 4 audit firms
• You have a good knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 17/9 is a plus)
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• You are fluent in English and Dutch or French
