Financial Controller

This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to make a real impact in a non-profit based in Brussels. Open to part-time candidates, this role combines strategic budgeting, analytical oversight, and donor-funded project support in a dynamic, collaborative environment, offering both responsibility and purpose for an experienced finance professional.

Your responsibilities as a Financial Controller :

• Develop and refine annual and multi-year operating and capital budgets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal and external requirements
• Coordinate with managers across departments to consolidate budget inputs, validate cost estimates, and support clear, transparent financial planning
• Monitor expenditures and analyze variances to identify risks, trends, or potential overruns, providing forecasts and recommending corrective actions when needed
• Produce concise financial analyses and reports for leadership and stakeholders, translating complex data into clear insights for decision-making
• Advise executives on resource allocation, cost-saving opportunities, and funding strategies
• Lead the preparation of grant and proposal budgets, aligning operational needs with donor requirements and ensuring full integration with internal financial system

About you :

• You bring solid experience in financial management, ideally including work with non-profit or NGO budgets
• You have a background in preparing donor-funded proposal budgets
• You work independently while coordinating smoothly with various stakeholders
• You are highly proficient in Excel and familiar with financial systems; ERP experience is a plus
• You speak English fluently; French is an advantage
