Accounting Manager

We are seeking a talented and experienced Accounting Manager in Brussels for an exciting opportunity in the Insurance sector. This is a dynamic and challenging role, reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Services Finance, Admin & IT. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the financial management of the organization, offering leadership to a team of accountants and contributing to the ongoing success of the company.

Your responsibilities as a Accounting Manager:

• You oversee a team of accountants
• You handle the complete accounting for several companies
• You prepare and file VAT and tax returns
• You manage monthly and annual closings
• You draft the annual financial statements and complete various questionnaires
• You provide interim results reports and offer strategic input on files
• You liaise with external auditors
• You assist during tax audits
• You streamline and enhance accounting processes

About you:

• You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Taxation, Finance, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience
• You have at least 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Experience within the insurance industry is considered a strong asset
• You possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
• You are fluent in both Dutch and English, with excellent communication skills
• You demonstrate initiative and are capable of working independently, while also being a team player
• You are discreet, responsible, and approach your work with a strong sense of accountability
• You have a structured and analytical work approach, coupled with a hands-on mentality to inspire your team and drive objectives
• You are proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and have experience with accounting software
