Legal Counsel

Responsibilities as Legal Counsel:

• Deliver in-depth legal counsel and assistance to different departments regarding a wide range of topics, including regulatory adherence, contractual agreements, employment issues, and corporate governance
• Advise on the legal consequences of new business strategies, projects, and initiatives
• Ensure adherence to all relevant banking and financial service regulations, both locally and globally
• Track and interpret legislative and regulatory changes affecting the institution's operations, and provide advice on necessary adjustments
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts to safeguard the organization's interests
• Supervise and manage litigation cases efficiently
• Identify and evaluate the legal risks related to the institution's activities
• Offer advice on corporate structuring and shareholder relationships
• Organize training sessions for employees

About you:

• You hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Banking and Finance Law or Commercial and Corporate Law, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited law school
• You have a minimum of 4 years of legal experience within a financial institution
• You are fluent in English and French and/or Dutch
