Accountant

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and manage month-end and year-end closing processes in compliance with IFRS standards;
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in close collaboration with operational teams;
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Belgian GAAP and internal control standards;
• Coordinate statutory reporting and collaborate on tax filings with the tax team;
• Connect with the business to ensure accounting reflects operational reality, including implications of new contracts or restructurings;
• Act as a subject matter expert in the review, optimization, and digitalization of accounting processes;
• Support and contribute to end-to-end improvement and transformation projects.

The profile of the ideal Accountant:

• Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics;
• Has at least 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role with strong technical knowledge;
• Solid knowledge of Belgian GAAP is required; familiarity with French GAAP is a strong asset;
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and process improvement-minded;
• Positive, enthusiastic, and able to perform well under pressure;
• Curious, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively across departments in a multicultural setting.
