Financial Accountant

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking for a broad, hands-on role within a leading international pharmaceutical group? This Financial Accountant position in Mont-Saint-Guibert offers the opportunity to take ownership of general accounting, statutory reporting, VAT compliance and external audits in an international environment.

Joining the Belgian entity of a major pharmaceutical group, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This varied position combines full-cycle accounting, statutory accounts preparation, VAT and audit coordination, offering both autonomy and opportunities for professional development in a pleasant working environment.

Your responsibilities as Financial Accountant

• Manage general accounting activities from A to Z, including month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and inventory reviews.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and ensure the timely filing and publication of annual accounts in accordance with Belgian requirements.
• Manage VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, corporate tax filings and other local tax obligations.
• Coordinate external audits, prepare supporting documentation and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with local legislation and group reporting standards.
• Support Group Finance and Tax activities, including transfer pricing documentation and ad hoc projects.
• Contribute to the optimisation of accounting processes, internal controls and financial procedures.

About the candidate

• You have at least 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, with a strong foundation in general accounting.
• You have solid experience in Belgian accounting, VAT compliance, statutory accounts and external audits.
• You are comfortable managing accounting activities from A to Z and taking ownership of statutory reporting and tax-related matters.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or have equivalent relevant experience.
• You are fluent in French and English and can communicate confidently in an international environment.
• You have strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP. Experience with Oracle EBS is an asset.
• You are organised, analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive and hands-on approach.
• You can work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is considered an asset.
