In 2025, the demand for HR professionals in Belgium is expected to rise, driven by the increasing complexity of workforce management and talent retention strategies. Both permanent and temporary HR roles are essential as companies navigate shifting labor market dynamics, especially in sectors undergoing rapid growth and transformation.
“HR professionals will be the architects of workplace culture in 2025, balancing long-term talent strategies with the agility to adapt in a constantly evolving job market,” says Asia Skifati, Associate Director at recruitment specialist Robert Walters.
“Permanent HR roles remain vital for long-term strategic planning, talent development, and maintaining organisational culture,” says Asia. “Temporary HR professionals will also remain highly sought after, particularly in times of rapid hiring or restructuring, providing businesses with the agility to adapt to changing market conditions. This flexibility allows companies to address short-term needs while maintaining long-term goals. Industries such as consulting, manufacturing and retail are expected to see a particularly high demand for HR expertise, with a focus on managing hybrid work models, employee well-being, and compliance with evolving labor laws.”
Asia: “Automation and AI tools are increasingly taking over routine HR tasks such as candidate screening, onboarding, and payroll management. HR professionals with a keen understanding of AI and automation will be able to use these tools effectively, freeing up time for strategic initiatives. Familiarity with AI-driven tools will also enhance the candidate experience by providing efficient, streamlined processes.”
Beyond generalist HR positions, companies increasingly recognize the need for HR professionals with deep expertise in specific areas such as data analytics, learning and development (L&D), and compensation and benefits. “Niche HR roles contribute specialized knowledge that supports organizational goals in specific, high-impact areas. As companies face a competitive talent market, economic uncertainties, and rapid technological changes, these roles ensure that HR departments can provide focused support that meets the unique needs of both the organization and its workforce. In 2025, this shift toward specialization will enable HR to serve as a strategic business partner, enhancing the organization’s resilience and adaptability.” Asia concludes.
