In 2025, the logistics and supply chain job market in Belgium is set for significant growth. Demand for professionals in import & export, purchasing and demand planning will rise as companies optimise their operations and enhance inventory management.
“Logistics and supply chain professionals will play a vital role in navigating challenges in the coming year. Those with analytical skills and tech expertise will be the key to success”, says Viktorien van Loon, managing consultant at recruitment specialist Robert Walters.

The logistics and supply chain job market in Belgium is expanding, particularly within manufacturing industries such as machinery, chemicals, paper and packaging, and food and beverage.
“Flexibility is becoming increasingly important, as organisations are hiring temporary workers more frequently to manage peak periods and adapt to uncertain markets,” Viktorien notes. “Currently, nearly a third (31%) of logistics and supply chain vacancies are temporary positions, and this trend is expected to persist into 2025.”
“With an average tenure of just 1.9 years and an ongoing scarcity of logistics talent – especially for operational roles like planners, warehouse managers, and transport coordinators – employers must prioritize investments in employer branding, development programmes, and attractive benefit packages to stay competitive,” she adds.
Sustainability is becoming a critical focus in the logistics and supply chain sector. Companies are increasingly adopting green logistics practices to reduce their environmental impact. This includes optimizing transportation routes to minimize fuel consumption, using eco-friendly packaging materials, and implementing energy-efficient technologies in warehouses. Additionally, there is a growing emphasis on circular supply chains. “The rising focus on sustainability heavily impacts the logistics & supply chain departments and will only amplify the need for specialized talent in the coming year,” Viktorien explains.
Automation will remain a key focus in 2025. To streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency, companies are rapidly adopting advanced technologies such as robotics for warehouse management, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for material handling, and advanced software for inventory management and demand forecasting.
Viktorien: “These innovations not only enhance speed and accuracy but also free up professionals to concentrate on strategic initiatives. Automation will therefore sharpen the need for logistics & supply chain professionals who combine tech proficiency with analytical skills to interpret data, optimize processes, and align technology with business goals.”
