"My consultant's background experience really made the difference"
Although I was not actively looking for a new professional challenge, I did respond to a LinkedIn message from Christophe at Robert Walters, as he was looking for an internal auditor for one of his clients. I - like so many internal auditors - am approached by recruiters via LinkedIn on a weekly basis, often with job offers that are not at all in line with my profile. Usually, I don't respond to such messages, but with Christophe it was different. From the start, he gave the impression that he had looked at my profile thoroughly and saw a possible match. So, my curiosity was piqued.
During the job interview, I mentioned that my audit experience until then had mainly focused on the operational, and that in the next career step I would like to focus on the more strategic part, which was not possible in my role at that time. Through the questions Christophe asked me during the interview, I immediately felt that he’s an expert in his field. Thanks to his audit background, he knows what he is talking about, which is not the case with an all-round recruiter. I was confident that Christophe would be the right person to help me in my next step. And so I did: what I was looking for turned out to be exactly the kind of job Christophe had in mind, and he arranged a first introductory meeting with Fedrus International.
What I appreciated enormously in Christophe was that he prepared me well for this interview, and this was also the case for the interviews that followed. For instance, each time he explained exactly who I would meet and gave the necessary background information about that person.
Christophe gave me the necessary advice around the kind of questions I could expect in each interview, and tips on which aspects within my experience I could best emphasize with which interlocutor.
At each of these preliminary interviews, it was striking that Christophe knows the company and their people well, and therefore knows exactly who they are looking for. As soon as an interview was over, he called me to ask for feedback and to provide honest feedback, informing me about the next step. Even after onboarding at Fedrus International, Christophe continued to follow up with me, wanting to hear how I was doing in the new job. We are now over six months later, and I know I can always turn to Christophe for tips and advice. I can therefore really recommend Christophe's expertise to audit professionals who are curious about interesting career opportunities.
