Finance Controller

Are you an experienced accountant ready to take the next step towards a Financial Controller role? An international company active in environmental testing, laboratory services and sustainability solutions is looking for a Financial Controller to join its finance team in Ghent. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for the financial and accounting activities of several Belgian entities. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and various stakeholders across the group.

Your responsibilities :

• Manage the accounting activities of several Belgian entities.
• Take ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Prepare and review financial reporting and statutory accounts.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP and support VAT and tax-related processes.
• Coordinate audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Translate financial results into clear insights supporting business decisions.
• Work with group stakeholders and, to a limited extent, French entities.
• Support the integration of new entities and the harmonisation of finance processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and further professionalise the finance function.

Your profile :

• You have a achelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or a related field.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• You are accurate, analytical and hands-on approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership.
• You are proactive and comfortable working in a changing and growing environment.
• You are fluent in Dutch and good command of English; basic French is a plus.
• You are based in or around the Ghent region.
