HR Advisor - Belgium & Switzerlands
Are you ready to take the next step in your HR career within a fast-paced, international environment? Robert Walters is looking for a proactive and people-oriented Human Resources Advisor to join our HR team based in our Ghent office.
This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking HR department where your expertise will make a real impact. You’ll act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, supporting a wide range of HR activities from employee relations and performance management to policy development and organisational change projects.
As part of a close-knit HR team, you’ll work closely not only with local colleagues but also with our central Global HR team leaders in London, as well as supporting HR activity for Switzerland. Your ability to build strong working relationships across borders will be essential in aligning local practices with international standards and driving consistent HR delivery.
What you'll do:
- Advise managers on a variety of employee relations topics: performance, disciplinary matters, grievances, long-term sickness, and occupational health
- Ensure compliance with Belgian labour legislation and company policies
- Support HR operations and employee relations matters for Belgium and Switzerland in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Work closely with HR Business Partners, administrators, and the London-based HR team to implement effective people strategies
- Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures across Belgium and Switzerland
- Support data-driven decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis
- Actively coach and mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and encouraging professional development
- Help foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive company culture
What you bring:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Proven experience in an HR Advisor or similar role, ideally within an international or matrixed organisation
- In-depth knowledge of Belgian labour law; exposure to Swiss employment law is a strong asset but not mandatory
- Bilingual in Dutch and English (both written and spoken); French is a strong plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you’re approachable, trustworthy, and collaborative
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of D365 and/or PowerBI is a plus
