Senior Accountant - Walloon Brabant

At Robert Walters, we are currently partnering with a leading international group to recruit a Senior Accountant for its Belgian operations based in Walloon Brabant.

Your responsibilities as Senior Accountant

• Take full ownership of the accounting and analytical management of several international entities.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Monitor VAT and tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Analyze trial balances, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
• Coordinate and monitor closing schedules and reporting deadlines.
• Prepare annual accounts and management reports.
• Act as a back-up for other members of the finance team.
• Ensure an appropriate balance between accounting, controlling, and project-related activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and financial processes.
• Contribute to the implementation of e-invoicing solutions.
• Monitor tax developments and ensure compliance with changing regulations.
• Collaborate with IT and controlling teams on automation, reporting, and optimisation initiatives.
• Improve financial processes, reporting quality, and data reliability.
• Define and document best practices to support sustainable growth.

The ideal Senior Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8 to 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Previous experience within Audit or a Fiduciary environment is considered a strong asset.
• Fluent in English and either French or Dutch.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Excellent command of Power BI and MS Office tools.
• Solid expertise in accounting, VAT, and tax regulations.
• Experience working in an international and multi-GAAP environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a collaborative mindset.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
