Financial Accountant

Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership of statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit activities in an international Manufacturing environment? This Financial Accountant position in Walloon Brabant offers a broad scope of responsibilities, combining accounting, tax and reporting with strong exposure to both Belgian and German entities. Working closely with the Financial Controller and various internal and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring financial compliance and supporting continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities as a Financial Accountant :

• Lead statutory accounts preparation and external audits for Belgian and German entities.
• Coordinate audit timelines and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
• Manage VAT, Intrastat, corporate tax and other local tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with local reporting and tax requirements.
• Maintain appropriate tax and transfer pricing documentation.
• Perform month-end activities, including balance sheet, inventory and accrual reviews.
• Conduct regular balance sheet reviews with the wider accounting team.
• Support Group Finance and Tax activities and ad-hoc projects.
• Build strong relationships with auditors, advisors and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure finance systems and processes comply with local requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure business continuity within the finance team.

About the candidate :

• You have minimum 4 years of experience in a similar accounting position.
• You have minimum 2 years of experience in statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance.
• You have a solid background in general accounting.
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• You have experience with Belgian and/or German statutory reporting, VAT and Intrastat.
• You are trustworthy, discreet and comfortable handling confidential information.
• You work effectively both independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
• You are proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP; Oracle EBS is an asset.
• You are fluent in English and French and have a good understanding of German.
• You bring an open mindset and are motivated by continuous improvement.
• You have experience in the pharmaceutical sector, which is considered an asset.
