Senior Project Procurement Specialist
As part of the continued development of its activities, our client, a leading international industrial player in the energy and complex technologies sector, is looking for a Senior Project Procurement Specialist. Within an international organization, you will play a key role in defining and implementing procurement strategies for complex industrial projects, from the identification of requirements through to supplier selection, contracting and performance management. The position combines Project Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management and Contract Management, with a strong international dimension. You will work closely with Project, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commodity Management and Supplier Performance teams in a highly collaborative and multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and implement procurement strategies in collaboration with Project, Engineering and Commercial teams.
- Identify business requirements, potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities.
- Develop sourcing strategies and lead RFx / tendering processes.
- Prepare supplier consultations, analyze bids and develop sourcing recommendations.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, lead times, commercial and contractual terms and conditions.
- Identify cost reduction and value improvement opportunities throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Develop Best-Cost Country Sourcing strategies, with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe.
Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key strategic suppliers.
- Assess suppliers' capabilities, manufacturing capacity, geographical footprint and financial stability.
- Evaluate their ability to meet technical, quality and project schedule requirements.
- Contribute to supplier rationalization and supplier base development.
- Identify and resolve issues related to cost, quality, capacity, delivery and supplier performance.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality / Supplier Performance teams.
Contract & Change Management
- Lead the preparation and negotiation of supplier contracts.
- Manage supplier commitments following contract or purchase order award.
- Manage contractual changes, scope changes and claims.
- Assess the financial and contractual impact of changes and lead the associated negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Work with Finance / Accounts Payable teams to resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.
Project Management
- Manage several procurement projects simultaneously in an international environment.
- Define action plans and monitor milestones, risks and expected benefits.
- Identify potential roadblocks and coordinate their resolution.
- Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate project changes and ensure alignment between the various functions and teams involved.
About You
You have significant experience in industrial procurement / project procurement, ideally gained within a technical and international environment.
We are looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement / Strategic Sourcing, ideally within an industrial environment.
- Significant experience managing complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of RFx, sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Proven experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Solid experience in contract negotiation and Contract / Change Management.
- Experience in international sourcing, ideally with a good understanding of the EMEA supplier market.
- Experience sourcing from Central and Eastern Europe would be a strong advantage.
- Experience in Energy, Engineering, Heavy Industry, Automotive, Aerospace, Oil & Gas or other technically complex industries will be considered.
- Experience with SAP / SAP Ariba is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Project Management tools and methodologies.
- Fluent English is essential due to the international environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally, up to approximately 30%.
Previous experience in the nuclear sector is not necessarily required. We are particularly interested in candidates coming from complex, highly technical and international industrial environments.

For candidates based in Belgium, the role can be locally contracted, with occasional travel to France and other locations involved in the projects.
